Barnes Sports Club offers Hockey, Tennis, Cricket and Squash and we also have a friendly and newly refurbished clubhouse where members and friends meet socially. Hockey, our biggest section, has an international standard pitch at Dukes Meadow just over Barnes Bridge. Our Women's team reached the semi final of the 2009 National Cup.
Tennis, Cricket and Squash are all catered for at Lonsdale Road where our cricket ground is one of the most picturesque in London. To contact someone directly about membership of one of our sports sections, click on the appropriate button on the left.
Cricket, Hockey and Tennis offer coaching for young people, and we organise junior camps for these sports in the school holdays. Click on the Junior Sport button or the Sport itself to the left. Cricket colts also play in age-level leagues against other clubs.
For the less energetic, we also offer social memberships. Please contact our Social Secretary for further details.
Bar hours during winter are: Sundays: 12noon - 3pm Mondays-Thursdays: 7 - 9.30pm Fridays: Closed Saturdays: 12noon - 9pm
The Club is home to Barnes Montessori Nursery, now in its 41st anniversary year.
Our sports club facilities, with or without the bar, can be hired for parties (adults or children, indoors or out) or for classes and other groups. Please click on FACILITIES & HIRING on the left for more information. Currently we host West London Lacrosse Club. Our squash courts are the chosen venue for GUKWOONE martial arts training on Monday evenings from 7pm (Contact Dr Krishna Rao for further details), and Kick Boxing classes on Sunday mornings at 11am organised by Stef Malewicz. On Thursdays for 2 - 5 year olds the Club hosts Rugbytots, classes that develop children's motor skills and coordination. In the Easter and Summer school holidays ACTIV CAMPS visits the club to run fun-packed multi-activity camps for kids. ACTIV CAMPS, simply the most fun you can have with your trainers on, are run by fully trained, enthusiastic staff, all with CRBs, who aim to create a happy and safe environment for your children and a memorable experience.
Barnes Sports Club has been a part of the Barnes community for 90 years. Founded immediately after the First World War, it has been based at Lonsdale Road ever since.
